Mold Setter (Night Shift)12-hour Rotating shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Scheduled work 7 days in a 14-day period (2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, repeat. Every other weekend is scheduled off.)Be part of something bigger! We have over 65,000 employees and a presence in virtually every country around the world to address some of the most challenging global health issues.Essential Duties & Responsibilities (On the job training will be provided for the following)Sets up, operates, and maintains materials/machines/molds and auxiliary equipment according to instructions, training, specifications, and standard process sheets/chartsTransports and loads or unloads materials/supplies/equipment/molds by operating an overhead crane, hand truck, motorized cart, forklift/truck, or Stanley Stak system as needed.Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, materials, devices, or productsProvide accurate reporting and documentation/paperwork on all tasksResponsible for completing all housekeeping, basic maintenance, and 5S tasksParticipate in continuous improvement activitiesPerforms other related duties as assigned Comply with all laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and work instructionsAdhere to good manufacturing practices and safety guidelinesExemplify BD culture & valuesFollow schedule for work shifts, meetings, time off, overtime, and breaksAssist and stay current with initial/on-going trainings, and communicationsQualifications / Requirements:Preferred 2 to 4 Years of Full-Time Work Experience or equivalent that exhibits a hands-on technical or mechanical proficiency and working with tools (examples: auto mechanic, electronics repair, machine technician, machine shop, robotics technician, machinist, maintenance repair work, certain types of construction work, hydraulics repair, mechanical engineering, etc.)Effective written and oral communication skills (English)Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints (English)Polite interpersonal skillsBasic math skills (Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra)Basic computer skills (Navigation, Using Complex Passwords, Open/Printing/Close/Saving files, Internet)Preference may be given to candidates with:2 to 4 Years of Experience in either Injection Molding or Mechanic/Technician in Automated Medical Device ManufacturingContinuous Improvement ExperienceExperience Training & Developing OthersIntermediate computer skills (Email, Microsoft Office, ADP eTime, SAP, etc.)Certificate from an Injection Molding Program (such as RJG Master Molder Technician Training)College DegreeWork Environment & Essential Required Physical Functions:This position is in a clean room or laboratory manufacturing environment and the physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The incumbent must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as: safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock.The incumbent may be frequently required to stand and/or occasionally sit for extended periods of time.Bending, stooping, and reaching are also frequently required.While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, kneeling, balancing, crouching, climbing, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers.The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift to 20 lbs., frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs., occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs., frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations.The incumbent will be exposed to noise levels in the work environment moderate to loud.Employees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment.At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
