DescriptionThe Maintenance Mechanic maintains and performs a wide variety of repairs on buildings, systems, and equipment to include electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.Job DutiesErect and work from ladders, scaffolds, swing stages, boom trucks and similar devices.Inspect buildings, systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, operational conditions.Maintain, repair, and install electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment and fixtures in campus building.Assist in moving and storage operations of physical plant equipment, furniture, and supplies.Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals.Operate a variety of vehicles and hand and power tools.Maintain a safe and clean working environment complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum two (2) years of experience in general maintenance with similar facilities.Possess a current, valid driver's license in the State of Alabama.Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.Must be able to verbally communicate technical information.Knowledge of methods, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade.Ability to exercise tact and discretion with other employees, customers, and the public, including reasonable standards of personal appearance.We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including health care, dental, vision, deferred compensation plans, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term disability, holidays, vacation, and sick leave.To learn more details, visit our01 Do you have a high school diploma or equivalent?
