Jewelry Store Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all opening and closing tasks including the arrangement and securing of inventory. Assists with oversight of the jewelry store staff including hiring, training, scheduling, etc. Able to apply a high-level attention to detail to aesthetics to maintain an organized, clean, and inviting space with inventory displayed properly at all times. Learns and carefully follows all protocols of effective sales techniques. Works one-on-one with customers to gain their respect and confidence in our ability to understand and meet their needs and exceed their expectations. Knowledgeable about the nature of the inventory and the nature of all featured jewelry designers with the ability to accurately communicate the artistry and uniqueness of each piece to customers. Develops a strong rapport with featured designers. Works with customers and specific designers to procure inventory to generate custom orders. Must be able to gather the appropriate information to help guide the customer to designers that will meet their needs. This requires patience to ensure the process goes smoothly. Elevates in-store experience by consistently delivering memorable moments to every client, starting with a smile and a greeting. Understands and delivers Store KPI’s. Encourages the team to meet minimum target goals. Advocates the Chamonix cultural values and leads by example. Exhibits the highest level of timeliness, honesty, and integrity at all times. Always adheres to compliance of store operations and merchandising standards. Conducts daily housekeeping, including daily management of client telling tasks. Performs accurate and efficient inventory control and loss prevention procedures. Able to apply a high-level attention to detail to aesthetics to maintain an organized, clean, and inviting space with inventory displayed properly at all times. Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business. Performs all responsibilities in compliance with various federal and state regulations, the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, internal policies and procedures, and Colorado Limited Gaming Regulations. Performs additional duties, including special projects, as needed or requested. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated experience working in the jewelry industry. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines and under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work with a diverse client base. Proficiency with Point of Sales (POS) systems, client tracking systems, and Microsoft Outlook/email. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. A graduate gemologist degree or previous Gemological Institute of America (GIA) course work is preferred. One (1) or more years of recent experience working in the jewelry industry. Experience in high end jewelry sales or art gallery experience is preferred. A minimum of 5 years retail or luxury retail experience or relevant customer-related experience is required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English. REASONING ABILITY: Position does not work outside the scope of duties. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge about the Jewelry industry. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks is required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve sitting while completing paperwork or using a computer. Duties include kneeling, squatting, bending, walking, crouching, stooping, and standing with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move general office supplies and merchandise. Essential duties involve a standard workweek with additional hours occasionally required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working primarily in an inside environment. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Various general office supplies and equipment include computers, calculators, photocopiers, printers, staplers and tape. Experience Required 1 - 2 years: Experience in any aspect of the jewelry industry. Preferred 2 - 5 years: Previous retail experience preferred. 2 - 5 years: Previous experience with jewelry sales preferred.
