Junior Staff Accountant
Summary: Responsible for all accounts receivable, inputting invoices, payment of invoices, end of month procedures, and other accounting duties as needed. This position reports directly to the CEO. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain considerable experience in defense contract accounting, a particularly important industry in San Diego and also have the ability to earn required experience for their CPA license if desired.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares & reconciles sales invoicing, collections, credit memos, and cash receipts entries
Manages the full-cycle Accounts Payable process and assist with weekly check run processing
Prepares Fixed Asset Accounting entries & period-end reporting
Performs all Government Property asset tracking and management under FAR regulations
Manages daily inventory transactions and prepares period-end inventory reporting and audit validations
Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports; Prepare & enter monthly adjusting journal entries for financial close
Assist with financial analytics (including job cost & inventory analytics) as requested
Support the accounting department in general accounting activities and special projects/requests
Assist with additional administrative tasks as required including filing, answering phones, and other office management duties
Additional duties as assigned
Mandatory attendance at all-hands SOC safety, security, and HR meetings
