Construction Project Manager

Job Description Job SummaryThe project manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, budgeting, and execution of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents. The project manager works closely with the project superintendent to maintain quality, safety, and schedule performance throughout the lifecycle of the project.Essential Job FunctionsOversee all phases of commercial construction projects from initiation to completionDevelop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost controlsCreate, review, and execute subcontracts and purchase ordersCommunicate project progress, risks, and milestones with clients and senior leadershipCoordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, owners, suppliers, field staff, and subcontractorsLead project meetings and maintain detailed project documentationCreate, review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applicationsMonitor job cost reports and forecast project financial performanceEnsure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policiesCollaborate with the project superintendent to ensure site operations align with project goalsRequires regular and prompt attendance plus the ability to work well with others and work well as a teamAttend regular internal meetings for scheduling and project progress updates.Performs other related duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum of five years experience in related fieldBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCompliance with drug testing programAbility to pass child abuse, FBI, and state police background checksKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong knowledge of commercial construction practices including structural, architectural, and MEP systemsExperience with project management software and scheduling toolsStrong financial acumen and cost control skillsAbility to negotiate contracts and resolve disputes effectivelyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to lead and motivate project teamsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to maintain professional relationships with clients and subcontractorsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based bonusesHealth benefits401k matching programPaid time off and holidaysOpportunity for long-term growth within the company
