Position Description
ThinkTek is seeking Cabling Installers to support a Department of War client at the Pentagon in the National Capital Region. This role performs structured copper cabling and wireless access point installation in support of a wireless network lifecycle replacement effort, including cable pulls, terminations, and testing under the direction of the crew lead.
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, label, and test Category 6 copper cabling in support of wireless access point installation
Perform cable pulls through pathways, telecommunications rooms, and ceiling spaces in accordance with approved plans
Test and troubleshoot copper cabling to ANSI/TIA-568 standards using industry-standard test equipment
Install and mount access points and verify connectivity between the copper cabling and each access point
Remove legacy access points, cabling, and mounting hardware, and support site restoration including fire-stop and ceiling-tile replacement
Support inventory and accountability of new and removed components
Maintain accurate labeling and support updates to cabling documentation
Follow quality control, safety practices, and applicable codes and standards
Required Qualifications
S. citizenship
Active Top Secret security clearance
BICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) certification
2 to 3 years of structured copper cabling experience
Proficiency in Category 6 cable pulling, termination, and testing to ANSI/TIA-568 standards
Ability to read cabling plans and follow installation drawings
Ability to perform physical installation work, including working on ladders and lifts and lifting up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
Prior experience working within the Pentagon and familiarity with its telecommunications infrastructure
Experience installing within SCIF or other classified spaces, including familiarity with TEMPEST, ICD 705, and Red/Black separation requirements
Additional BICSI credentials
OSHA 10 or 30, lift, or fall-protection certifications
Experience with cable certification test equipment (e.g., Fluke DSX)
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $105,030 – $115,020. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, market data, and applicable contract requirements, and may fall outside the posted range.
