About the Role:The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their medical visits. This position involves a combination of clinical and administrative tasks, which are essential for the smooth operation of the healthcare facility. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, and managing patient records efficiently. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to patient satisfaction and the overall success of the healthcare team.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.Preferred Qualifications:Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in a healthcare facility.Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.Responsibilities:Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are available.Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, adhering to safety and sterilization protocols.Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.Answer phone calls and schedule appointments, providing excellent customer service to patients.Skills:The required skills of medical assisting, phlebotomy, and vital signs measurement are utilized daily to ensure that patients are prepared for their appointments and receive the necessary care. Proficiency in handling medical instruments and sterilization techniques is critical for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment during procedures. Strong communication skills are essential for answering phones and interacting with patients, as they help to create a positive experience. Additionally, the ability to process specimens accurately is vital for timely diagnosis and treatment. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with EHR systems, enhance the efficiency of record-keeping and patient management.
