Job Title: Analytical Development ScientistLocation: Pearl River, NY 10965100% OnsiteDuration: 9–12 Month ContractPosition SummaryThe Bench Scientist II is responsible for executing laboratory-based experiments to support scientific research, product development, and technical investigations within the Vaccine Research and Development Analytical Development Group.This role focuses on hands-on laboratory work (~75%) involving analytical and characterization techniques such as HPLC, gel electrophoresis, and spectroscopy. The position emphasizes routine testing, assay verification, and qualification studies using established methods (no method development required).The scientist will contribute to data generation, ensure accurate documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support early-stage vaccine development.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine analytical testing to support vaccine development programsPrepare samples, operate analytical instruments, and analyze resultsExecute assays using established laboratory procedures (no modification required)Conduct HPLC-based assays as the primary analytical techniquePerform additional techniques such as Gel electrophoresis, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopyDocument experiments and results in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN)Enter and manage data in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)Draft and revise laboratory methods and reports under supervisionFollow GLP/GCLP and internal quality standardsMaintain lab operations, including: Buffer and reagent preparation, Equipment maintenance, Waste handlingCommunicate deviations, issues, or inconsistencies promptlyCollaborate with a team of ~12 scientists to troubleshoot and interpret dataAdhere strictly to SOPs and laboratory safety protocolsEnsure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail in all tasksRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related scientific field1–4 years of relevant industry experience in an analytical laboratoryHands-on experience with HPLC systems (academic exposure alone is not sufficient)Experience with: Gel electrophoresis, Spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis or fluorescence)Familiarity with GLP/GCLP standards and laboratory practicesExperience using: ELN systems, LIMS or similar data management toolsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures preciselyGood communication and teamwork skillsPreferred QualificationsIndustry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environmentsExperience working in regulated settings (GMP, GLP, GCLP)Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teamsInterview ProcessInitial screening interviewSecondary interview with team members and/or leadership
