Job Title: Software Engineer IICompany: Raytheon (RTX)Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite)Role Type: Full-Time | OnsiteAbout the RoleRaytheon's Software Engineering Directorate (SWE) Effectors Center (EC) is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our team in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will work within agile teams to assist in the full software development lifecycle—designing, coding, testing, and integrating real-time embedded software, applications, and tools for next-generation defense capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development & Integration: Design, code, test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software and application tools for new systems and existing platform enhancements.Requirements & Design: Participate in requirements definition, architectural design, and internal technical reviews of software components.Agile Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and project managers within an agile development environment.Configuration & Standards: Adhere to established software configuration management processes and industry best practices.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience.Programming Skills: Experience with C++, C, or other object-oriented programming languages.Hardware/Embedded Experience: Experience with hardware-software integration and embedded systems testing.Security Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required. Must have the ability to obtain an Interim U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain program access.Preferred Qualifications:Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, systems software design, and operating system architectures.Experience with object-oriented design (OOD) and Unified Modeling Language (UML).Familiarity with statistical and numerical methods.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of effective teamwork.
