Medical Assistant FloaterThe Medical Assistant Floater provides high-quality, team-based patient care under the direct supervision of clinicians, performing both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing patients, maintaining chronic disease management, and assisting with examinations and treatments. The Medical Assistant Floater performs a full range of laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy tasks and rotates among multiple clinic locations to support either the medical assistant role or a dedicated laboratory function.ResponsibilitiesDeliver team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and patient-centered experience.Support clinicians and care management teams in assessing patients, maintaining chronic disease management, and assisting with examinations and treatments.Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks, following proper protocols and safety standards.Conduct all required laboratory testing procedures accurately and efficiently, documenting results as needed.Obtain and record vital signs, including manual vitals when required, and report abnormal findings promptly to the clinician.Provide general medical assisting support such as rooming patients, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with clinical procedures.Use medical terminology appropriately when documenting and communicating patient information.Assist with patient care activities, including preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, and promoting health and wellness.Perform administrative tasks in the back office or clinic setting as needed to support efficient patient flow and operations.Float between multiple clinic locations to provide coverage in either the medical assistant role or a dedicated laboratory role, depending on operational needs.Adhere to all clinical, laboratory, and safety protocols, including infection control and quality assurance procedures.Maintain flexibility and adapt to changing work environments, schedules, and clinic assignments.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma required.At least 2 years of experience in a clinic or back office healthcare setting.Medical assistant diploma or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential, or at least 3 years of medical assistant experience.Phlebotomy experience, including venipuncture and capillary collection methods, required.Ability to obtain and record vital signs; proficiency in manual vitals is preferred and willingness to be trained is expected.Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Active driver's license required to travel between clinic locations.Ability to use medical terminology accurately in clinical and administrative contexts.Demonstrated flexibility to adjust to a changing work environment and float among multiple clinic sites.Ability to perform clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.Experience using TriMed electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.Strong patient care skills with a focus on health promotion and chronic disease management support.Comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary care team across multiple locations.Strong organizational and time management skills to handle varying schedules and patient volumes.Work EnvironmentThis position is 100% onsite in an outpatient clinical setting, working Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and every other Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The schedule alternates between approximately 42.5 hours in week one and 46.5 hours in week two. The role requires regular floating between several clinic locations, including Royal Palm Beach, Boynton East, Boynton West, Wellington, and Palm Beach Gardens in Florida. The work environment involves direct patient care, clinical support, and laboratory functions in a back office or clinic setting, using electronic medical records (TriMed EMR preferred) and standard medical equipment for vital signs, phlebotomy, and laboratory testing. The position includes travel between clinics, with mileage reimbursement and additional support when floating outside core locations. Professional clinical attire appropriate for a medical assistant in an outpatient setting is expected.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Royal Palm Beach, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00/yr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
