Our vision is to create a world where all individuals, regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background, have access to opportunities to thrive.This mission-driven organization seeks a skilled legal professional to serve in a strategic volunteer leadership role on the Board of Directors.Position OverviewThe Operations Manager supports the implementation and oversight of the organization’s day-to-day operational functions. This role ensures that internal systems, workflows, administrative processes, and operational procedures function efficiently and consistently in alignment with organizational policies and strategic priorities.The Operations Manager works closely with the Vice President of Operations and executive leadership to translate strategic goals into operational execution, support staff coordination, and drive process improvement initiatives.This is a non-paid, volunteer position.Why This Is a Meaningful OpportunityServing as an Operations Manager offers a unique opportunity toStrengthen the operational infrastructure of a growing mission-driven nonprofit.Improve efficiency, consistency, and accountability across departments.Support program delivery and organizational scalability.Gain leadership experience in nonprofit operations management.Collaborate with executive leadership to drive continuous improvement.Contribute directly to sustainable community impact.This role is ideal for an operations professional who is passionate about building strong systems that enable organizations to thrive.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Implementation & CoordinationSupport implementation of operational strategies aligned with organizational goals.Oversee daily administrative operations, workflows, and internal processes.Monitor systems to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.Assist in developing and maintaining operational policies and procedures.Process Improvement & Performance MonitoringIdentify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements.Track operational performance metrics and prepare reports.Support cross-departmental collaboration to enhance service delivery.Assist in managing operational projects and timelines.Staff Support & SupervisionProvide supervision and guidance to assigned administrative staff and volunteers.Support onboarding and training related to operational processes.Promote accountability and adherence to organizational standards.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to internal policies and nonprofit regulations.Identify operational risks and escalate concerns as appropriate.Support preparation for audits, reviews, or internal assessments.Additional duties may be assigned as organizational needs evolve.Volunteer Role NoticeThis is a non-paid, volunteer role. Time commitment expectations and responsibilities will be mutually agreed upon in writing.QualificationsEducation & CredentialsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Public Administration, or related field.PreferredMaster’s degree (MBA, MPA, or equivalent).Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or similar operational certification.Experience & ExpertiseMinimum 3–5 years of experience in operations, administration, or organizational management.Demonstrated experience supporting operational systems and process improvement initiatives.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven environments preferred.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Commitment to ethical conduct, accountability, and mission-driven service.How To ApplyInterested candidates should submitA completed ApplicationA current resumeCover LetterApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
