Event Security Guard

Overview WorkWhile is hiring licensed Event Security Guards in Syracuse, NY for an upcoming event. This is a great opportunity to work high-energy events while gaining hands-on security experience in a professional environment. Event Details: Venue: 515 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, NY 13202 Date: Starting March 29th, 2026 Shift: 5:30 - 10:00 PM MST Pay Rate: $19/hr Dress Code: Solid black slacks, solid black closed-toe shoes, solid black t-shirt Responsibilities Monitor for irregularities such as security breaches, safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders (police, fire, and/or medical) as required Remain alert for unauthorized individuals or security violations; approach suspicious persons and/or notify law enforcement as appropriate Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to ensure the safety of people, property, and equipment Inspect doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper security; use client keys to open and secure buildings as needed Monitor closed buildings for unauthorized access or suspicious activity Prepare routine, standardized incident and activity reports Provide escorts to staff or guests as necessary Inform and warn individuals of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited items) Detain violators when required, following policy, until law enforcement arrive Certificates & Experience Required Customer Service Experience *Current New York Security Guard Card General Requirements Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions Ability to understand and follow general and client-specific policies and procedures Ability to maintain accurate records and reports Ability to respond appropriately and calmly in emergency situations How to Apply: Download the WorkWhile app from the App Store for iOS or the Play Store for Android or through this link: Job Types: Part-time, Temporary Pay: From $18.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Application Question(s): Do you currently have a valid Unarmed NY Guard Card or are you willing to obtain one before starting work?
