Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst
OverviewThis role is instrumental in the creation of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and related financial materials and assisting in technical accounting research. Responsibilities will be primarily focused on the day-to-day coordination and preparation of the Company’s financial reporting, perform technical accounting research and document memos to support significant transactions, and prepare stock compensation accounting entries. The position requires an individual with strong technical accounting knowledge, experience preparing financial statements and external reporting, and equity accounting. Position will report to Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting and interact with the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting and Controller.Position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix AZ. Hybrid schedule in office Tuesday- Thursday.Overview Of ResponsibilitiesAssist in overall preparation of annual and quarterly financial reportsAssist in overall preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statementsAssist in technical accounting research and implementation of new guidanceAssist in compilation/preparation of management discussion & analysis (MD&A)Compilation/preparation of footnote disclosuresAssist in review of XBRL tagging of Forms 10-Q and 10-KWork with Finance and business departments during the data collection process to obtain required informationAssist in creating, preparing and administering Workday reports to support the financial statement preparation process. Review and maintain the department’s reporting calendars and request lists.Assist in maintaining documentation and execution of internal controlsPrepare external audit requestsReview significant contracts and detect accounting impactPrepare Weighted Average Shares Outstanding (“WASO”) on a monthly basisPrepare accounting for stock compensation and related transactionsSpecial Projects/OtherComplete special projects and ad hoc requestsAssist in the monthly close process and preparation of monthly management reportingQualificationsBS/BBA degree in Accounting requiredMS in Accounting or MBA preferredCPA2-3 years Big 4 experience and 2+ years experience in an industry financial reporting roleExperience with Workiva, Workday, and/or Fidelity, preferredStrong core accounting, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skillsStrong organization and project management skills, and ability to effectively prioritize tasksEnergetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiativeAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verbalAbility to influence others and work effectively in a cross-functional environmentStrong attention to detailDemonstrated leadership ability and the capacity to anticipate and develop new processes with minimal directionProficient knowledge of computer skills including MS Office applications and intermediate technical skills related to accounting applicationsBenefitsIn addition to a rewarding career, Sprouts offers a comprehensive program to help support you and your family.
