Chapter Lead - Power Electronics & Controls: Critical Power (Napier, NZ & Richmond, US)

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Platform & Innovation Agile Unit Leader__Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role you will be part of the Critical Power Agile Unit and report directly to the Agile Unit Leader for Product Platform. In addition to your role as Chapter Leader, you will be part of a specific Agile Team.Chapter mission:Share best practices & know-how of power electronics and control systems for power electronic systems and real time software implementation. Develop standards & guidelines on how to develop and optimize firmware and hardware for the Critical Power portfolio.Develop and Maintain Local Electrical Laboratory and Testing standards & guidelines for the power protection portfolio.Preferred locations: Richmond (USA) or Napier (New Zealand).Candidates based outside the USA or New Zealand must be willing to relocate.This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power globally.You will be mainly accountable for:Ensure the chapter mission is being deliveredAct as a coach with deep expertise related to the chapter and ensure that chapter members have appropriate competencies and skills.Conduct regularly updates and training during alignment meetings on chapter specific topics, both on technical and R&D processes-related topicsLead the recruitment process of new chapter members and support appropriate staffing across agile units in accordance with relevant stakeholdersConduct performance review of chapter members collecting input from relevant stakeholdersDeveloping the following skills inside the team: Power electronic hardware design of rectifiers, inverters, and DC/DC conversion with energy storage devices such as batteries. Firmware development for power conditioning, real-time controls, signal processing, control loop stability.Build competencies in the team related to chapter mission of power electronics and controlsStandardize methods and processes within the teamQualifications for the rolePreferred more than 5 years of experience in R&D developing power converters of high power.Master's degree in engineering with thesis in Power Electronics preferredStrong problem solving and debugging skills and preferred experience with power electronics and control hardwarePreferred experience with power systems, on site commissioning, and experience in a lab setting with power testing and test equipmentStrong consultancy, analytical and communication skills demonstrated in a good servant leadership practiceProven stakeholder management ability preferably in a multicultural environmentExperience in simulation and modeling using Matlab/SimulinkFluency in EnglishWhat's in it for you?We empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
