THE JOBThe purpose of the Plant Engineer's role is to oversee, manage and maintain the maintenance and engineering functions for a single manufacturing facility. The Plant Engineer is responsible for all aspects of capital and maintenance budgets for the facility including but not limited to the following: Capex budgeting and management; development of long-term Capex budgeting; monthly reporting for Capex spends; monthly review of maintenance and facility spend; equipment improvements, equipment reliability; supporting and driving productivity improvements, managing, and staffing of the Maintenance department and energy management. As a Plant Engineer your roles and responsibilities will include: Manage, staff, and coordinate the Maintenance departmentSchedule maintenance activities on daily/weekly/monthly basisDevelop and manage Capex Programs and report monthly on Capex spendManage and control the Plant maintenance budget and report monthly on spendMaintain Capital Assets Track plant equipment reliability programsSupport, develop and drive productivity improvementsMay implement and drive maintenance skills programManage and control plant energy programsEnsure environmental and safety compliance for the facilityDiagnose and solve complex problemsTroubleshooting/diagnosing and maintaining equipmentWork and partner with Plant Leadership team to achieve business goalsMay be required to perform other related duties as assigned DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEThe ideal Plant Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following: Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 6 years manufacturing/project engineering experience and 2 years' experience in a leadership roleManages a staff of 55 hourly and 4 salary employees, sets direction, and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring and terminating.Thorough knowledge/understanding of Mechanical SystemsKnowledge of Environmental and Safety Local/State/Federal rules/regulationsWorking knowledge/understanding of SAPStrong leadership skillsStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookProven problem-solving abilitiesProven analytical and quality improvement abilityAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to interface with all levels of the organization, both internally and externallyAbility to understand business principlesLean and Six Sigma experience strongly preferred We understand that even if you are a seasoned Plant Engineer you may not have all the skills listed here.
