Job description
Location: Full-time on-site M-F in Washington DC
Project duration: 15 months
Must Have Qualifications: The candidate must be familiar with troubleshooting and enhancing code using Java, Python, scripting, and DevOps. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Gen AI tools such as Kiro and Amazon Queue, as well as experience with Jenkins, is also required
Schedule: Standard on-call rotation, with one shift/weekend every 4–5 weeks

Skills:
Java Development, Python or Shell scripting, understanding the entire software development lifecycle pipeline, testing experience and ability to work with users for troubleshooting issues.
This role would be 30% new development, 20% enhancement, 30 - 40% troubleshooting, and the rest would cover miscellaneous tasks.
This role primarily requires Java development experience and backend work.
Python scripting experience is a plus.
Production support :
If there is an issue with their code, the candidate must investigate it. They must be able to fix that issue. Able to enhance that code.
We need to upgrade from JDK 8 to JDK 21.
Experience with Gen AI tools such as Kiro and Amazon Queue is a plus. Familiarity with these tools would be a plus.
Heavy Java programming. We need someone who can help resolve Java issues and do JDK migration.
The pipeline is already in place. The candidate should be able to use the pipeline and assist with any troubleshooting issues.
Intermediate experience with Jenkins is required. This includes understanding how Jenkins works, setting up new jobs, and managing the entire pipeline.
Experience with AWS is a nice-to-have.
