Broadcast Operations Technician - RemotePart Time (16hrs/Week) - RemoteOverviewThe Sports Broadcast Operations Center (SBOC) Technician provides real-time operational support for live sports broadcasts across satellite and digital platforms. This role is responsible for broadcast scheduling, signal monitoring, metadata accuracy, quality assurance, incident response, and coordination with internal and external teams to ensure seamless live event delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport live sports broadcasts in a 24/7/365 operations environment.Monitor broadcast systems, alarms, and signal health; troubleshoot and restore services quickly.Perform quality control on broadcast automation, audio, and metadata.Operate and support satellite, IP, baseband, and digital broadcast distribution systems.Monitor automation workflows, dashboards, and broadcast health indicators.Coordinate with Programming, Broadcast Engineering, and third-party partners for successful live event execution.Document operational incidents and escalate issues as required.Participate in operational testing, disaster recovery exercises, and process improvements.Follow established workflows while contributing to operational efficiency and reliability.QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.2+ years of experience in broadcast operations.Experience with digital audio editing, broadcast automation, quality control, and digital routing.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of North American professional and collegiate sports.Excellent troubleshooting, time management, and multitasking abilities in a live broadcast environment.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to assess operational risks and make quick decisions under pressure.Self-motivated team player with a customer-focused mindset.Technical SkillsExperience with live broadcast operations and automation systems (Zetta by RCS preferred).Knowledge of digital audio routing, Audio over IP (AoIP), satellite, IP codecs, and broadcast signal flow.Ability to troubleshoot audio, metadata, and signal distribution issues.Familiarity with broadcast monitoring, metadata management, incident management, and quality assurance.Experience with ServiceNow (or similar ticketing platform), Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
