Additional paid sick leave is also provided if required by state or local law.Summary Of PositionAs an Automation Technology Intern, you will collaborate closely with our engineers to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of automation technology solutions that serve our customers' projects. You will gain hands-on experience with industrial automation systems and learn about various aspects of the industry, contributing to projects that improve our customers' overall efficiency and productivity.Essential FunctionsSupport automation engineers in the design, development, testing, and implementation of automation technology solutionsSupport assembly and integration of mechanical systems, fixtures, guarding, and equipment.Assist in mechanical design tasks, including CAD modeling, drafting, and component selection.Create, update, and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.Create conceptual drawings for customer opportunitiesConduct feasibility studies to evaluate customer user casesAssist with troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to automation technologyDevelop and support demos for our automation Executive Briefing Center (EBC)Conduct research on automation technologies and industry trendsAttend team meetings and contribute to project discussions and planningComplete assigned tasks and projects in a timely and accurate mannerAssist/lead in mechanical design tasks, including CAD modeling, drafting, and component selection.CompetenciesEnsures AccountabilityTech SavvyCommunicates EffectivelyValues DifferencesCustomer FocusResourcefulnessDrives ResultsPlans and PrioritizesDecision QualitySelf-DevelopmentWork EnvironmentThis position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools.Physical DemandsThis role requires physical capabilities that support the successful execution of key responsibilities. The employee regularly engages in verbal and written communication with colleagues and clients to address project-related inquiries and must be able to convey accurate information clearly and efficiently. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office to access equipment, supplies, and shared resources. Daily tasks include consistent use of computers and standard office technology such as keyboards, printers, and multifunction devices.
