Enable Resident student teachers to develop competencies and skills to successfully achieve teacher certification in the State of Texas.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:* Meet University of Houston and Pasadena ISD requirements for Resident Student Teacher Placement* Meet University of Houston Clear Lake and Pasadena ISD requirements for Resident Student Teacher PlacementSpecial Knowledge / Skills:* Ability to work well with school-aged children* Ability to communicate and work well with campus personnelMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policyAssist the mentor teacher(s) in preparing instructional materialsWork with individual students or small groups to complete instructional exercises by the teacher(s)Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignmentsAssist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroomKeep the mentor teacher(s) informed of any special needs or problems of individuals studentsAssist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroomAssist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipmentAssist the mentor teacher(s) in keeping administrative records and preparing required reportsParticipate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as neededPerform other duties as may be assignedWORKING CONDITIONS:Mental Demands:Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress;interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functionsPhysical Demands / Environmental Factors:Frequent prolonged and irregular hours; Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use ofcomputer; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, walking, and bending12/1/2021
