Job Description We are seeking a highly dependable and experienced VA Armed Security Officer to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment. The selected individual will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, monitoring premises through both physical presence and surveillance systems, and enforcing all site-specific policies and procedures.In this role, the officer will proactively identify potential safety and security risks, respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, and take appropriate action to protect staff, visitors, and property. Responsibilities also include controlling access points, verifying credentials, conducting routine inspections, and completing detailed and accurate reports of daily activities and incidents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong situational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations while providing excellent customer service.Location:Hampton RoadsResponsibilities:Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rulesThoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and securityWarn violators of premise rules and regulationsApprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal actsReport any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipesRequest emergency personnel for high risk situationsQualifications:Must have a current and valid armed VA DCJS license. (MUST HOLD A VIRGINIA STATE DCJS ARMED LICENSE)Minimum 2 years previous experience in armed security, law enforcement, corrections, or active duty militaryFirst Aid and CPR/AED certifiedMust be capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs, running, physically restraining a violent person, lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbStrong attention to detailJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: $18-20 per hourBenefits:Health InsuranceExperience level:2 years minimum
