Yard Assembler

STS Technical Services is hiring a Yard Assembler in Liberty, Missouri, to support equipment handling, yard organization, inspections, minor repairs and assembly operations in a hands-on manufacturing environment.This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working around equipment, using hand and power tools, supporting loading and unloading activities and helping keep machines, parts and work areas organized and production-ready.Position OverviewThe Yard Assembler is responsible for safely handling incoming and outgoing equipment and parts while supporting inspection, parking, organization, minor repairs and assembly activities.This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and a willingness to work across multiple areas as production needs change.ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload incoming and outgoing equipment from trucksLoad and unload incoming and outgoing parts safelyPerform inspections on incoming machinesDocument equipment conditionTake and upload equipment photosOrganize machines and maintain orderly yard parkingPerform minor repairs on used equipmentUse jumper cables or jump packs to start machines with dead batteriesKeep the yard clean and free of litter and debrisAssemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulic components using power tools and manual techniquesInstall accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lightsSafely operate an overhead crane to position partsUse hand and pneumatic tools including wrenches, hammers and torque gunsMeasure materials and components accurately using tape measures and related toolsDrill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small componentsRead schematics, blueprints and Standard Work InstructionsIdentify required options and assembly requirementsLift and stack subassemblies and parts weighing up to 35 pounds independentlyParticipate in team lifts for parts weighing up to 60 poundsCross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as neededFollow written and verbal work instructionsMaintain attention to detail and established quality standardsMaintain a clean and safe work areaFollow safety rules and 6S standardsPerform other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsAbility and willingness to work overtime as neededAvailability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required by business and production demandsAbility to maintain regular and reliable on-site attendancePreferred QualificationsAt least six months of experience in manufacturing or general laborPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive motionsAbility to lift and carry up to 35 poundsAbility to push and pull up to 50 poundsAbility to sustain pushing or pulling up to 30 poundsAbility to bend, kneel and climbAbility to safely use tools and equipmentVisual and auditory ability required for safe equipment operation and communicationWork EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing and production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery and temperature fluctuations.Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when required.About STS Technical ServicesSTS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading aerospace, manufacturing, defense and industrial organizations across the United States.
