Withum’s audit and advisory team possess the expertise necessary to give stakeholders confidence in financial information.  This team provides audit services, review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries.Withum is actively seeking a top Energy Audit Manager based out of our Houston, TX office. But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities. How You’ll Spend Your TimeManaging client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, reviewing, supervising engagement team, and completing audit engagements while effectively controlling time and expenses and providing world-class client serviceOverseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and the conclusionCollaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagementManaging multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlinesCreating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the auditDemonstrating thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills necessary for advising clientsRecognizing complex technical issues, using strategic decision-making skills to reach appropriate conclusionsComplying with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups and teaching the impact of such pronouncements to staffDeveloping potential referral sources to bring new business to the firm and involvement in community activities for the purposes of business development and cross selling the firm’s servicesExpanding industry expertise and staying abreast of industry news; contributing to staff and senior development by sharing industry knowledgeParticipating in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention and team-building activitiesServing in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following: Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced degree preferableCPA certification required; other professional certification relevant to specialized services areas a plus5+ years of audit and upstream oil & gas experience requiredA combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred; SEC experience is a plusAdvanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standardsMust maintain required CPE credits annuallyAbility to effectively use Prosystem Fx Engagement and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with DAS a plusExcellent supervisory, organizational, problem solving, written and oral communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlinesExcellent project management and presentation skillsAbility to travel as neededWithumSmith+Brown, PC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against otherwise qualified applicants on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, age, sex, (including pregnancy), genetic information, marital status, domestic partnership status, familial status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship status, national origin, disability or handicap, veteran status, weight, height, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
