Transportation Sourcing Manager

About the OpportunityWe are seeking a strategic and analytical Transportation Sourcing Manager to lead carrier sourcing, contract negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives across a multi-site distribution network. This role will play a critical part in shaping transportation strategy, improving service levels, and driving measurable cost savings across freight categories.This is a high-impact position partnering closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure efficient and scalable logistics solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement sourcing strategies across transportation modes including truckload, LTL, parcel, and intermodalLead carrier negotiations, including pricing, service agreements, and long-term contractsManage the full sourcing lifecycle, including RFP/RFQ development, bid analysis, and vendor selectionBuild and maintain strong relationships with transportation providers and third-party partnersAnalyze freight spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiativesConduct market research to stay informed on carrier trends, capacity shifts, and pricing dynamicsPartner with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with operational and business needsOversee freight contract accuracy, including rates, accessorial charges, and tariff structuresSupport freight payables processes, including validation, reconciliation, and issue resolutionLead sourcing initiatives beyond transportation (e.g., equipment, services, facilities, or CapEx categories) as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field5+ years of experience in transportation sourcing, logistics procurement, or similar roleExperience leading carrier negotiations and managing RFP/RFQ processesStrong understanding of freight operations, cost structures, and supply chain networksProven ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategiesExperience working cross-functionally with operations, finance, and procurement teamsExcellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and supply chain systems (TMS, ERP, or similar preferred)
