This role blends hands-on pastry artistry with operational leadership, requiring a detail-oriented professional dedicated to producing high-quality desserts and ensuring seamless kitchen operations.The ideal candidate will collaborate with the chef-owner on all aspects of production, including preparation, cake decorating, packing, delivery, and event setup, with a strong focus on wedding cakes and dessert bars. As a key team member, you will lead efforts to optimize kitchen workflows, train team members, and deliver exceptional client experiences.Key Responsibilities1. Kitchen ManagementPreparation for Wedding Season (By May 1st):Standardize recipes, workflows, and procedures to enhance efficiency.Assist with preparing and baking a variety of desserts in alignment with Gingerly Baked’s high standards.Develop and manage an ordering system using Google Sheets.Health and Safety Compliance:Implement and maintain health protocols to meet or exceed Adams County Health Department regulations.Create and enforce cleaning schedules and food safety logs.Ensure all signage and documentation are current and visible.Delivery Operations:Collaborate with the chef-owner to hire and train a delivery team.Develop standard operating procedures for timely, safe, and professional deliveries.Make deliveries using your personal vehicle, serving as a professional representative of Gingerly Baked.2. Sales and Client EngagementConduct in-person tastings to showcase Gingerly Baked's offerings.Represent the company at venue open house tastings to attract new clients and build relationships.Submit a plan to enhance client and partnership satisfaction for implementation in 2026.3. Team DevelopmentCollaborate with the chef-owner to launch an externship program by August, fostering new talent and supporting company growth.Mentor and train junior pastry staff, focusing on technical skills and operational excellence.QualificationsProven experience in a professional kitchen environment.Expertise in pastry techniques, cake decorating, and dessert artistry.Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to thrive under pressure.Creativity and attention to detail, with a passion for artistic design.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.Valid driver’s license and willingness to use a personal vehicle for deliveries.Food handler’s certification or the ability to obtain one promptly.Performance MetricsWedding Season Prep: Fully operational kitchen by May 1st.Kitchen Productivity: Implement efficient kitchen operations and hire/train a delivery and kitchen team.Health Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to county health regulations.Externship Program: Successfully launch by August.Client Satisfaction: Maintain high standards through tastings and delivery professionalism.Pay: $52,000 per yearBenefits:Paid time offCompensation Package:TipsYearly bonusSchedule:8-10 hour shiftDay shiftEvenings as neededMorning shiftWeekends as needed
