REGISTERED NURSE - SCHOOLFull Time/Part TimeOn Call/SubstituteTotal Hours Per Week0From Salary31.80To Salary34.55Job Summary:The School Registered carries out activities to promote, maintain and improve the health and safety of all students.Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain health records on each student and see that medical forms are updated.Administer all prescribed medications to students daily.Exercise professional judgment in dealing with health problems of the students.Administer emergency first aid, when necessary, completes accident forms, and recommends additional medical follow up.Coordinate with School Secretary to confirm student's absence (phone call, email, etc.)Act as main liaison with parents and prescribing physicians concerning the administration of medications.Maintain proper storage and security of all medications.Communicate with staff members about all student medical issues, such as allergies, seizures, etc.Order and dispense as needed first aid supplies, e.g., vinyl gloves, ice packs, band aids, etc.Implementation of communicable disease policy in the school, including monitoring, surveillance, and participating in disease prevention and outbreak management within the school.Development and training of staff that provides health services, including the administration of medication to students.Education & ExperienceNew York State License as a Registered Nurse.
