About The RoleShopify’s Social Media team, part of our broader Brand & Audience Expansion team, executes clear communications and engaging experiences, while blazing the trail for an innovative user experience for our merchants, developers, and followers across social channels and digital platforms.As a Social Lead, Developer on the Social Media Team, you’ll bring developer audience and technical subject matter expertise to a highly collaborative and creative group of marketers. You’ll engage external developers who build Shopify apps, themes and custom storefronts, and act as the primary point of contact for Product teams on milestone moments like Editions and Editions.dev. You’ll create content that brings product launches and demos, and technical conversations to life across a variety of platforms and channels.You’ll own and drive campaigns and content in support of Shopify’s developer community, end-to-end, while engaging in timely conversations with the developer audience on social media. Authenticity is key for social, so you must be technically literate, ensuring you can genuinely engage with our developer community (more in qualifications below). You’ll need to work independently, while bringing along the right collaborators and stakeholders. The potential to thrive in an ambiguous, hyper-growth environment should excite you. This is a senior individual contributor role.ResponsibilitiesOwn original content & real-time social communications with the developer audience on @ShopifyDevs X, including copywriting and basic video editingDesign and own content calendars in support of developer-focused initiatives with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging, digestible social content for a developer audienceDevelop and pitch evergreen content series and community engagement programming including X Spaces, livestreams, AMAs with Product teams, etc.Be the voice, and occasionally on-camera talent, for developers when collaborating with Product, Marketing & Brand teams, bringing Social expertise to product launchesTake an experimental approach to channels and strategies, mapping content and initiatives to the right medium and call-to-actionOwn regular reporting cadence, including monthly recaps and campaign wrap reportsDevelop briefs with data-driven recommendations, aligned to Developer Brand and Social objectives, while adhering to platform & community best practicesQualificationsRelevant experience in Social, Developer Marketing, or DevRel for tech brandsYou are technically literate.
