Special Education Teacher Location: Buena Park, CA Agency: Aequor Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 7 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Location: Buena Park, CA Pay Rate: Up to: 2005.15/Week Start Date: 04/6/2026 to 05/22/2026 Duration: Duration of School Year Number of Positions: 2 Shift Type: Days Hours Per Day: 7 Discipline: Special Education Teacher (SPED) Specialty: School Pay: $55.00 - $62.00 per hour Job description: Position Summary The Special Education Teacher provides instruction and case management for students with moderate to severe disabilities in a classroom-based setting. This role serves students in a Transition Program (ages 18–21) as well as a Junior High Program, focusing on functional academics, life skills, social-emotional development, and post-secondary readiness. The teacher works collaboratively with related service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and administrators to support student success and independence. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom for students with moderate to severe disabilities Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student needs, goals, and transition plans Deliver instruction in functional academics, daily living skills, vocational skills, and community-based learning Support transition-aged students (18–21) with post-secondary readiness, employment skills, and independent living goals Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior supports Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and transition partners Supervise and support instructional aides and paraprofessionals Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and program goals Maintain compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development Qualifications Required: Valid Moderate/Severe Special Education Teaching Credential Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred) Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred Experience with transition-aged students (18–21) and/or junior high students strongly preferred Preferred Skills & Attributes Strong classroom management and behavior support skills Knowledge of functional curriculum, vocational training, and transition planning Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Compassionate, patient, and student-centered teaching approach Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills INDEDU1 Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Vision insurance Work Location: In person
