Maintain responsibility for the material purchasing process including issuing POs, determining appropriate timing of material orders (ensuring best price) and purchase tracking (ensuring in-time delivery)Maintain organization of inventory and yard at assigned facilitiesOrder and coordinate project supplies to arrive on time and at the correct locationReceive new material shipments and verify order content and completenessPhysically or mechanically handle and store new material shipmentsDevelop and create reporting for Min/Max levels, material demand, forecast and budget purposesManage inventory for specific jobs by staging materials from each job's pick listCommunicate inventory needs to the Supply Chain ManagerAid in holding employees and subcontractors accountable to appropriate documentation of inventory as it is taken and returned to designated yards/warehousesMaintain location(s) inventory list by allocating inventory to individual jobs and tracking inventory changes using a scanner, computer and/or inventory system softwareCoordinate and/or conduct physical inventory reconciliations and follow-up on inventory discrepanciesAct as the primary lead at the site for all customer material requests and check outsDeliver material to other locations or job sites as neededParticipate in and adheres to all Company Safety requirementsOther duties as assignedWhat You’ll NeedTo be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this companyMust be able to pass background check and drug testsAbility to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memosAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to apply reasoning ability and understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsKnowledge of Internet software, database, spreadsheet and word processing softwareMust maintain a current DOT health card certificateForklift certificationValid driver’s license with clean driving record requiredClass A driver’s license preferredTravel is requiredPhysical Abilities & ExposuresThe work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
