The Role: Mechanical Engineer 1Location: Florence, SC (onsite from Day 1)Type: ContractWork Authorization: USC/GCWhat You'll Do:This position is for a mechanical engineer to provide design and support for the Otis Gen3 products. The position will play a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems, while working to meet agreed upon cost, reliability, and schedule commitments. Responsibilities:· Typical responsibilities include structural analysis, design, implementation, and testing of a wide range of elevator components.· The candidate should have a strong mechanical engineering background with experience working in a cross functional team environment. Required Qualifications:· BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering· Creo (CAD Software)· Microsoft Office· Sound mechanical engineering background (mechanical and system modeling and design, component modeling and design)· Strong communications and leadership ability Preferred Qualifications:· Mechanical Structural Analysis with Ansys or other FEA software· Sound mechanical engineering background (mechanical and system modeling and design, component modeling and design)· Creo / Pro Engineer· Mechanical structural analysis with Ansys or other FEA Software· Design documentation with Mathcad· Hands-on testing experience· Strong communications and leadership ability· Experience with test and measurement equipment· Elevator systems knowledge preferred but not required
