Linux System AdministratorFunctions may include system architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration.Daily responsibilities include full lifecycle support of RedHat/Oracle Linux, building, provisioning, and onboarding of Linux Virtual machines in virtualization environment such as Oracle PCA (private cloud appliance) Or VMWare and experience with working with tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Ansible, Chef to provide smooth operation of the environment and automation in deployment. Help team members with patching, and other O&M-related tasks. The candidate should also have a solid understanding of security requirements, and how to remediate security findings and vulnerabilities. Help create and maintain SOPs.To be successful in this challenging and critical role, the candidate will be expected to have the following: will possess many years of working experience in large – multi-site environments, expert knowledge of OEL & RHEL, in-depth knowledge, and real-world experience in automation, be able to troubleshoot & mitigate issues, working knowledge of databases, detailed oriented, a team player, and is willing to learn.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced Linux system administration/support for mission-critical systems (Oracle Linux/RedHat)Ansible automation and monitoring of Linux Systems and DevOps experience.Build, provision, onboard, administration, and support of Linux Virtual (VMs) and physical machines on Virtualization/cloud platform such as private cloud appliance (PCA) or VMWareDesign storage strategies, LVM management, backup, and recovery strategies with tools such as TSM/CommvaultSupporting Networking needs of system administration.Adaptation of best practices/CIS standards and Performance tuning of servers and automationUser administration, Security/Access Control/Hardening/Resource monitoring and scaling of RHEL / OEL Linux infrastructureAnnual attestation of audit and compliance requirements and support Disaster recovery exercisesOn-call rotation, Production support, troubleshooting, upgrades/migrations and attending ServiceNow ticketsSupport software/firmware software concurrency and quarterly and ad-hoc patching cyclesAct as a liaison serving as primary point of contact between database administrators/Project Teams and Oracle Appliance/Engineered system administration teamInstall and support highly scalable, available, reliable, and secure Infrastructure platform for database/business applicationsAnticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them by applying analytical skills and engineering solutions.Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new / improved guidelinesServe as a key resource on complex and / or critical issues and develop innovative approaches/Serve as Subject Matter Expert, Leader, and mentorWorking with Monitoring tool sets such as Oracle Enterprise Manager(OEM)/Zabbix/Splunk/HP/Grafana etc.Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience7+ years of strong and advanced Linux (RedHat or Oracle) system administration experience.3+ years of strong DevOps experience with Ansible/GitHub automation and Docker experience.3+ years of experience with Virtualization/Cloud platform and experience in building and managing Linux OS systems with strong understanding of how the Linux kernel works.Strong Automation and Scripting skills (such as Shell, Perl and Python)Working in team setting and strong in customer relationship and documentation/report generation.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Oracle engineered systems/appliance machines such as Exadata / exalogic / PCA (private Cloud appliance or VMWare) is highly preferred.Any working knowledge of Kubernetes containers, Jenkins is preferrable.Backup/recovery experience with Commvault or TSM
