NCIS is the DON component with primaryresponsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE),counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters.NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative,CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusiveinvestigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual,potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, andsubversive activities.Role OverviewAs a Network Engineer, the work you'll do will be impactful to themission of the IT Technology Development division within the NCISITD organization in Quantico, VA.Provide technical support and troubleshooting services for incomingservice incidents related to computer systems, software, andhardwareProvide end-user software and hardware troubleshooting, appliesdiagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, andimplement or recommend solutionsIdentify recurring issues and notify management of patternsTests and analyzes all elements of network facilitiesResponsibilities include providing technical assistance, addressingcustomer queries, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.Specialists will assess and troubleshoot issues related to companyproducts/services, offer step-by-step guidance, and escalate complexproblems to the appropriate departmentMonitors and controls the performance and status of networkresources on multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware toolsIdentifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting networkperformanceAnalyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, andinterfacesProvides technical planning and analysis for communicationactivities including designing, integrating, installing,troubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting,documenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performingpreventative maintenance servicesPerforms testing, provisioning, operations and emergency responsefor ongoing network operationsOversees and manages the deployment of upgrades to existing data,video, and related systems in a multi-location environmentEnsures all required operational and support documents are currentMaintains a current understanding of emerging technologies andtrends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and otherdata center technologiesKey ResponsibilitiesN/ARequirements:Our Network Engineer must have:Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearanceRequired Experience: 8+ years of network experience; with 3 years ofspecialized networking experienceExperience with engineering data center and IP backbone networks ina multi-vendor, multiprotocol environment, including networks basedon T1, DS3, Fiber/Optical, DSL, Ethernet, and Ethernet over Coppercore.Experience with the following protocols, BGP, OSPF, vDC, vPC, VRF's,Spanning-Tree, VLANs, 802.1q, QoS, Cisco ASA with Active/ActiveMultiple ContextsFirewall Experience Required- Cisco ASA 5500X, Juniper SRX,Forcepoint SWExpert level configuration of Cisco routers and switches including:4500/6500, 3750, 3850, and ASR 1000Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K Data Center ExperienceExperience with configuration and management of firewalls;
