Our work is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and participant-centered.We are seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator to support our prison-based programs at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW). This role is responsible for coordinating programming, managing administrative functions, and serving as a consistent, trusted presence within the facility. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and able to navigate complex systems with both professionalism and compassion. Maturity, integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to self-care are essential. This position reports to the Director Prison-Based Programs and working closely with the Director of the Mothers and their Children program.This is a meaningful opportunity to be part of a team that brings hope, community, and transformative programming to women who need it most. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCenter Operations and Maintenance Coordination (35%)Prepare and set up program spaces each day, ensuring rooms are arranged, materials are organized, and everything is ready for sessions.Keep program space clean, tidy, and welcoming, and report any maintenance concerns to the appropriate staff.Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure timely completion of scheduled work and maintenance tasks.Monitor inventory of supplies and reorder as needed to support programming and center operations.Maintain and restock first aid kits and emergency supplies, and ensure staff and volunteers are familiar with emergency protocols.Oversee the setup and functionality of audiovisual and other technical equipment needed for programming, troubleshooting minor issues as necessary.Manage scheduling for internal and external program use, ensuring no conflicts or overbookings.Maintain a daily log of center usage, including staff, visitors, and activities, to inform future programming and operational needs.Guest and Program Services (30%)Greet and welcome guests, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed about the days programming.Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers, visitors and participants, addressing inquiries and directing them as needed.Support meal coordination for program activities and ensuring participant dietary needs are met.Oversee participant check-in and attendance logging for all program sessions and classes.Coordinate the setup and breakdown of spaces for scheduled programs and activities.Actively observe facility operations to ensure smooth functioning and promptly inform the supervisor of any incidents, concerns, or opportunities for improvement; propose recommendations for enhancing activities and services.Administrative (20%)Order supplies, furnishings and equipment for prison-based programs.Maintain accurate inventory of all center and programmatic spaces.Support operations and administrative staff with reporting.Other responsibilities as assigned.ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (15%)Attend relevant Arise Collective staff meetings, board meetings and retreats. .Participate in opportunities to educate and advocate for increased awareness of the issues surrounding womens incarceration and incarceration in general.Participate in organizational training and evaluations.Other responsibilities and special projects, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSThe Program Coordinator must demonstrate a passion for and willingness to support Arise Collectives mission, vision, values, and work and possess attributes including but not limited to:Inclusive, empathetic worldview and demonstrated skill working across lines of difference.High school diploma or equivalent.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Solid organization skills, accuracy, and ability to successfully manage multiple and sometimes competing projects, tasks, and deadlines.A personal commitment to excellence and strong attention to detail and accuracy.Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with a broad range of individuals in a professional and pleasant manner; excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.Proficient in use of technology, including standard operating systems and Microsoft Office products; database (Excel, e.g.) experience.Ability to work both independently and on a team within a high stress environment while maintaining policies, professional standards, and a calm, non-judgmental attitude.Strong work ethic, a high degree of patience, and grit to push through difficult challenges.Systems-oriented thinking and an ability to understand, create, and implement complex processes.Sound judgment, initiative, and decision-making skills.Willingness to extend kindness, compassion, and accountability to oneself and others.The desire and humility to learn and grow both personally and professionally. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations, as well as the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye-foot coordination; arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp; visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read information; use of auditory senses; and ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.WORK REQUIREMENTSThis is an on-site position with the primary purpose to coordinate programming and operations of the MATCH space. Regular schedule within a standard 40-hour work week with occasional evenings and weekends. The impact of actions is great in this position with potential harm to participant safety and well-being.PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPSThis position will work closely with the organizations program staff and interact regularly with other staff and volunteers. Will have substantial contact with participants, their families and significant others, program partners, community treatment providers, corrections staff, the faith community, and others in service provision.JOB TYPESalaried, full-time, exempt position.SALARY RANGE$48,000 - $58,000 for 40 hours/week, negotiable depending on experience.
