Autodesk Training Specialist
SCOPE OF WORKThe Autodesk Training Specialist is responsible for enabling Gaylor employees to effectively use Autodesk software through hands-on training, field-based support, and applied learning experiences. This role serves as an Autodesk subject matter expert, partnering with project teams and field personnel to ensure consistent, efficient, and correct use of Autodesk tools across job sites and offices.This position focuses less on traditional instructional design and more on practical adoption, real-world application, and on-site coaching to drive productivity and successful project execution.RESPONSIBILITIESAutodesk Expertise & TrainingServe as the primary Autodesk subject matter expert for GaylorTrain employees on how Gaylor uses Autodesk Forma tools (e.g., Build, AutoSpecs, BuidlingConnected, and Insight)Deliver hands-on, role-specific training sessions in person and virtuallySupport project teams during Autodesk rollout and onboarding on active job sitesCoach employees in real-time as they learn and apply Autodesk workflows Field & Job Site SupportTravel to job sites to assist teams with Autodesk setup, workflows, and best practicesTroubleshoot user challenges and provide practical, solution-oriented guidancePartner with field leadership to improve adoption and consistency across projects Learning Content & ResourcesDevelop and maintain Autodesk-focused learning materials, including:Quick reference guidesVideos and screen recordingsPresentations and job aidsEnsure learning materials reflect current Gaylor workflows, standards, and use casesUpdate content based on user feedback, software updates, and process improvements Learning Systems & EnablementUpload and maintain Autodesk training materials within the Gaylor Learning Management System (LMS)Train employees on how to access and use Autodesk-related learning resources in the LMSAssist with LMS organization and content upkeep related to technical training Continuous ImprovementStay current on Autodesk software updates, features, and industry best practicesGather feedback from trainees and stakeholders to improve training effectivenessCollaborate with internal partners to align training with operational needs Professional ConductRemain calm, professional, and supportive during high-pressure or emotionally charged situationsAdapt training delivery to different skill levels, learning styles, and work environments EDUCATIONBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience EXPERIENCEStrong working expertise in Autodesk software requiredPrevious experience training, teaching, coaching, or supporting end usersExperience in construction, engineering, or a field-based environment preferredDemonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into practical, easy-to-understand instruction TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS25-40% travel to job sites and Gaylor locations nationwide
