Senior Civil Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Civil Group. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, technical leader, and Project/Program Manager, guiding the delivery of complex infrastructure projects while supporting the growth and success of the team.Our Civil Group delivers high-quality, efficient design solutions, develops technical standards, and ensures rigorous QA/QC practices. You will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary coordination, mentoring staff, and driving both project excellence and client satisfaction.You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, including pump stations, reservoirs, lift stations, and treatment facilities-supporting efforts from planning through construction while helping strengthen client relationships.Key Responsibilities:Lead civil design for infrastructure projects, including site layout, grading and drainage, yard piping/pipelines, access, and stormwater complianceProvide technical leadership and resolve complex engineering challenges; contribute to standards and best practicesCollaborate with internal disciplines, subconsultants, utilities, and clients to deliver cohesive, high-quality designsPartner with project managers to ensure work is delivered on scope, schedule, and budgetSupport business unit goals by collaborating with operations, technical, and sales leadershipMentor and develop staff, contributing to team growth and strategic recruiting effortsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master's preferred15+ years of civil engineering experienceStrong foundation in site design, grading/drainage, pipelines/yard piping, and stormwater complianceExperience in water, wastewater, or environmental projects preferredProficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus; ability to effectively coordinate with designers is essentialProven ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and manage technical documentationCalifornia PE license requiredProject management experience preferredIf you bring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for delivering impactful infrastructure solutions, we encourage you to apply.Kennedy Jenks supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work to empower our people to thrive and achieve their full potential.The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
