ACIBuilds.comSummary/ObjectiveThe Boiler Service Technician will be responsible for the servicing, troubleshooting, repairing cleaning, and maintenance of heating and cooling equipment and related systems for commercial / industrial customers.Essential FunctionsService boilers and equipment for commercial / industrial customersTroubleshoot, test, repair, maintain or modify heating systems and equipment including, but not limited to, high pressure steam, low pressure steam, and hot water systemsPerform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement and modifications requested by customersPrepares on-site installation and repairs - examining building layout, anticipating challenges, identifying materials and coordinates on-site workDocument, complete, and maintain paperwork on each jobPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility: NoRequired3+ years of relevant experience cleaning and servicing boilers in a commercial / industrial environment; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience 4+ years of practical experience in general HVAC workKnowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systemsUnderstanding of fuel oil, natural gas, and propaneMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsAbility to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematicsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedWork EnvironmentThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampnessMay work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levelsMay be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dustMay be required to work in confined spaces or from high heightsPhysical DemandsThis role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focusTravelMay require travel (typically not overnight)PreferredHS diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge of HVAC 20's equipmentJourneyman's or Master licensePrior military experience
