CFO
Description We are looking for an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial direction of our organization in Roseland, New Jersey. This executive will guide both strategic planning and day-to-day financial leadership, ensuring accurate reporting, sound controls, and strong support for growth initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep real estate finance expertise, strong business judgment, and the ability to work closely with ownership on critical decisions.Responsibilities:- Direct the full accounting function, including ledger management, payables, receivables, payroll administration, and the month-end close process.- Produce reliable financial statements and deliver clear, timely reporting and analysis to ownership and leadership.- Lead the annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and cash planning to support operational stability and long-term goals.- Establish and strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures that promote accuracy, compliance, and accountability.- Oversee relationships with banks and lenders, including covenant tracking, financing documentation, and required reporting.- Coordinate tax strategy and serve as the primary internal lead with external auditors, tax professionals, and other financial partners.- Review portfolio and corporate financial results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, then recommend actions to improve performance.- Provide financial leadership on acquisitions, asset sales, refinancing efforts, and other real estate transactions.- Ensure adherence to applicable tax, regulatory, and reporting obligations across the business.- Assess accounting tools, workflows, and operating practices to improve efficiency and support better decision-making. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.- At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in finance and accounting, including service as a CFO, Controller, or comparable senior executive.- Prior experience within the real estate sector is required, ideally spanning property operations, investments, development, or family office settings.- Strong command of financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal control frameworks.- Demonstrated success overseeing all major accounting functions within a small to midsize organization.- Ability to shift effectively between high-level strategic leadership and hands-on financial execution.- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn confidence from ownership and other key stakeholders.- Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive financial and business matters.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
