Sr. Production Artist (Print Mechanicals)

A national brand’s internal creative studio is seeking a Sr. Production Artist who is highly skilled in print production, mechanical file prep, and large-format output. This role is 99% print—ideal for someone who thrives in a studio environment, prefers production over concepting, and maintains an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy. You’ll work on large mechanical files (up to 40GB), ensuring pixel-perfect execution across collateral, OOH, retail, and specialty print applications.Full time hours, open ended Hybrid, onsite 3-4 days per week in Philadelphia, PA $35-45/hr Responsibilities:Build and prepare production-ready mechanical files for print across OOH, large format, retail displays, and collateral. Perform basic retouching and clean-up in Photoshop (extending backgrounds, cleaning artifacts, correcting content, color/tone adjustments). Execute precise resizing, formatting, and layout adjustments to meet updated specifications and vendor requirements. Maintain mechanical consistency across complex assets, ensuring proper bleeds, dielines, layers, color profiles, and resolution standards. Work efficiently through high-volume production queues, implementing edits and revisions with speed and accuracy. Collaborate closely with print vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure files are compliant with production standards. Required Qualifications:5+ years of mechanical production experience in a studio environment; strong preference for candidates with true print production portfolios. Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) with mastery of layout prep, mechanicals, and prepress. Deep understanding of print production, color accuracy, preflight, and file packaging for vendor handoff. Proven ability to work on very large mechanical files (40GB+), multi-layer packaging, or complex large-format assets. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to handle repetitive and technical tasks at a high level. Portfolio must clearly demonstrate true production work — not conceptual design. Nice to Have:Experience with OOH, retail signage, and specialty large-format applications. Familiarity with vendor specs, die creation, and print workflows. Ability to contribute to systemization or standardization of file processes.
