Network Support Engineer
Network Smart Hands Support Technician – Austin, TX📍 Location: Austin, TX📅 Start Date: October 1, 2026⏰ Schedule: 1 day per week / 8 hours per day📆 Frequency: Same day each week (e.g., every Tuesday or Wednesday), approximately 4–5 days per monthWe are looking for an experienced Network Smart Hands / Field Support Technician to provide weekly onsite support for a network environment in Austin, TX.Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite Smart Hands / Hands & Feet support for network incidents, service requests, and hardware upgrades.- Perform racking, stacking, cabling, installation, and basic configuration support for networking equipment, including: - Routers - Switches - Chassis - Small Form Factor (SFF) switches - Wireless Access Points- Work with remote Level 2/Level 3 Network Teams to troubleshoot and resolve network incidents and outages.- Replace faulty copper/fiber cables and hardware components when required.- Install network hardware and patch cables to support new services.- Support hardware upgrades, including: - Rack and install network equipment - Install fiber and copper patch leads - Provide console access to remote engineering teams - Assist with configuration and connectivity testing- Update and manage tickets through ServiceNow.- Follow remote team instructions and provide clear onsite status updates.Requirements- 4+ years of relevant experience in Network Smart Hands, Data Center, or Field Network Support.- Hands-on experience with racking, stacking, cabling, and installation of networking equipment.- Familiarity with routers, switches, chassis, SFF switches, and access points.- Basic networking troubleshooting and configuration knowledge.- Experience working with remote L2/L3 network engineering teams.- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.- Must be located within commuting distance of Austin, TX and able to provide onsite support every week.- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.Interested candidates: Please send your updated CV along with your location, availability, and expected hourly/day rate.
