Food Service Assistant ManagerPrimary Purpose: Prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.Qualifications:Education/Certification: None specifiedSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools Ability to perform basic arithmetic operationsRequirements:Must have a food manager's certificate requiredAbility to lift up to 40 poundsAbility to stand up to 8 hoursExperience: 3 years as an Assistant Manager in institutional/educational food serviceMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Responsible for all paperwork (i.e. grocery orders, production records, HACCP requirements, inventory), and schedule subs.Running the cash register at breakfast and lunch. Assistant Manager will run the cash register at least two days per week.The person working the cash register will be responsible for balancing and preparing the deposit for that day.Responsible for checking temperature of all freezers and walk-ins on a daily basis.Responsible for turning in work orders to the Director.Supervisory Responsibilities:The Manager is always in control of the kitchen. In the absence of the Manager, the Assistant Manager will take over the Manager's duties.Equipment Used:Large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, deep-fat fryer, sharp cutting tools, oven, dishwasher, and food and utility cart.Working Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Continual standing, turning, walking, pushing, and pulling; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing (ladder), lifting and carrying (up to 40 pounds); moderate exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.Salary: See BISD salary schedule AX2, BISD pays $325.00 towards medical premium for employee BISD pays Telehealth premium for employee BISD provides a $10,000 Life Insurance Policy for employee
