Infectious Disease Physician | Greater Houston, TXPhysician‐Led, Multispecialty Practice | Consultative & Longitudinal CareKelsey‐Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Board Certified Infectious Disease Physician to join our collaborative, physician‐led multispecialty practices across Greater Houston locations.This is an opportunity to practice comprehensive infectious disease medicine in both outpatient and consultative settings, supported by an integrated care model that values clinical expertise, collaboration, and continuity of care.Position HighlightsConsultative Infectious Disease role supporting outpatient and hospital‐based careLongitudinal outpatient clinics with continuity of patient relationshipsInvolvement in antibiotic stewardship and quality initiativesOpportunities to support patients transitioning from hospital to outpatient careInitiation and supervision of home IV therapiesCollaboration with multidisciplinary teams including Wound Care, Hospital Services, and specialty leadershipParticipation in virtual and indirect patient care servicesPractice autonomy supported by a physician‐led, integrated organizationResponsibilitiesClinical CareProvide expert consultation in Infectious Disease diagnosis and treatmentPerform comprehensive history, physical examinations, test interpretation, and patient counselingManage outpatient Infectious Disease care and oversee transitions from inpatient settingsInitiate and supervise home IV antibiotic therapiesMaintain continuity clinics for ongoing patient managementLeadership, Quality & CollaborationCollaborate with Associate Medical Specialty Leadership to ensure high‐quality, compliant care deliveryParticipate in antibiotic stewardship initiatives in partnership with Pharmacy & TherapeuticsSupervise Infectious Disease purchased servicesEducate clinical staff on Infectious Disease diagnosis and treatmentServe as a liaison with Wound Care and Hospital Services leadershipParticipate in regular specialty and leadership meetingsVirtual & Indirect Patient CareProvide virtual Infectious Disease services including video visits, telephone consults, and e‐consultsBe available for virtual and telephone consultations during regular business hoursManage indirect patient care responsibilities such as reviewing labs and imaging, renewing prescriptions, responding to patient messages, and communicating resultsSupport quality improvement initiatives across care delivery systemsSchedulingOffice hours structured to meet patient demandPractice location and schedule determined based on organizational and patient needsQualificationsMD or DOBoard Certified in Infectious DiseaseAmerican Board of Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine and PediatricsCurrent DEA certificationUnrestricted Texas medical licenseCompensation & BenefitsPhysicians receive competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions (subject to eligibility requirements).is Houston's premier multispecialty group practice and a national leader in coordinated, value‐based care.
