Electric Utility Construction Manager - Transmission / Substation / DistributionLocation: Oakbrook Terrace, IL. 60181Duration: 2 years plus open ended assignment.Job Description: A Construction Manager Field Rep specializing in Transmission, Substation, or Distribution projects is responsible for overseeing and managing construction activities related to electrical transmission, substation and Distribution projects. Well rounded in all Electric Utility Construction Management.Person selected will be knowledgeable in Substation / Transmission Construction, Maintenance, Rebuild or installation. Greenfield / ground up construction.Visit construction sites, oversee crews, report on productivity, monitor progress and report on safety.Experience with construction management in the electric power industry. Such as previous experience as a Lineman, Foreman, Crew Lead, Supervisor, electrician.Some duties include: Manage and oversee: Safety, Productivity, Quality, Material management, work progress, quality and site safety including performance of safety audits, Provide constructability feedback during design and walk down, Provide scheduling input, Review/Manage Scope Change requests, Assist with managing material availability, Manage adherence to ComEd standards. Coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.Managing construction progress and quality to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.Procuring materials, equipment, and services for transmission and substation projects.Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards on construction sites.Preparing project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.Providing leadership and guidance to project teams and subcontractors.Conducting site meetings and inspections.Experience with Word and Excel, Knowledge of OSHA safety policies (helpful), Knowledge of ComEd safety policies, Electrical utility experience (highly desired).Understanding of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure.Will need cellular phone, Base PPE (Class E Hardhat, Safety Glasses, FR Clothing, FR Safety Vest, Steel Toe Work Boots).Job sites can be anywhere within the ComEd service territory (roughly a 90 mile radius around Chicago.)
