Network Operations Engineer

Marathon TS is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support mission-critical DoD communications and enterprise network environments. This role is responsible for monitoring network health, troubleshooting outages and performance issues, supporting change management, coordinating circuit and service activation activities, and working with customers, vendors, and internal engineering teams to maintain reliable network operations.This position is a strong fit for candidates with backgrounds in NOC operations, routing and switching, telecom/circuit support, DISA environments, JRSS, MPLS, LAN/WAN, or network engineering.ResponsibilitiesMonitor network systems, alarms, outages, degradations, and performance issues across DoD or enterprise network environments.Troubleshoot routing, switching, LAN/WAN, MPLS, VPN, firewall, proxy, IDS/IPS, and general connectivity issues.Document incidents, escalations, troubleshooting steps, and resolution activity in ticketing or incident management systems.Support network change management activities, including hardware replacements, software/configuration updates, maintenance windows, and service activations.Coordinate with customers, vendors, internal engineering teams, and government stakeholders to restore service and minimize mission impact.Assist with circuit actions, telecom coordination, DISA processes, service orders, and implementation activities as needed.Analyze network traffic, customer requirements, and technical issues to support reliable end-to-end connectivity.Escalate complex issues to senior engineers, vendor support, or program leadership when required.Support operational reporting, technical documentation, and process-driven network support activities.Required QualificationsActive Secret clearance or higher.U.S. citizenship.Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.Experience supporting network operations, NOC environments, telecommunications, enterprise networks, DoD networks, or network engineering.Working knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, network topologies, and IP-based communications.Experience with one or more of the following:LAN/WANMPLSVPNVLANsTCP/IPDNS/DHCPOSPF, BGP, ISIS, or similar routing protocolsCisco or Juniper environmentsFirewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, or load balancersNetwork monitoring or alarm surveillance toolsAbility to document technical issues clearly and communicate with customers, engineers, vendors, and internal teams.
