Electrical Engineer
Overview
As an Electrical Engineer you will design and analyze electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure, focusing on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver compliant, energy-conscious designs on time and within budget. You’ll tackle load calculations, protection studies, and lighting design, applying industry software to model and document solutions. This role offers the chance to shape projects through BIM and coordination with architects and other engineers. You will contribute to project delivery while mentoring junior staff and supporting commissioning and client communication.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop electrical designs for building and infrastructure projects (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and comms)Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, coordination studies, and protection design using SKMCreate lighting layouts and calculations with AGI32 and Revit; produce BIM models and construction documentsCoordinate electrical designs with architecture and other engineering disciplines via Revit BIMDesign highway and roadway lighting to standards and illumination criteriaPrepare specifications, equipment schedules, and material takeoffs; review submittals and shop drawingsSupport project delivery through effort estimation, cost input, proposals and bidsConduct site visits, field inspections, and support construction administration and commissioningEnsure NEC, local codes, and client requirements; integrate energy efficiency and sustainability considerationsCommunicate with clients, contractors, and internal teams; mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's a plus)Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or EIT with intent to pursue PEMinimum 3 years of electrical design experience (building/infrastructure projects preferred)Proficiency with Revit for BIM modeling and construction documentsExperience with SKM for protection and coordination studiesExperience with AGI32 for lighting calculations and visualizationsStrong knowledge of power distribution, short-circuit/coordination analysis, and protection practicesExperience designing fire alarm and communication systems to code requirementsExperience with building and roadway lighting and roadway standardsWorking knowledge of NEC, local codes, energy codes, and sustainability practicesProficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with project management toolsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skillscommunicationteamworkmentoringRevitSKMAGI32
