Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.The Radar Digital Products (RDP) Department at Raytheon is seeking an experienced Principal level Electrical Engineer in the development and implementation of FPGA based designs for control and/or signal processing radar applications. The individual will be required to provide development support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance.What You Will DoOwn or contribute to the successful completion of FPGA-based designs, on time and on budgetWork with a team to determine the technical approach or solution to meet system level requirementsMay lead small teams and mentor junior engineersDemonstrate self-motivation, with little supervision requiredDesign and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to productionWork cooperatively with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management to ensure product successDemonstrate the ability to architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirementsDesign and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainabilityVerify designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverageCreate complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user's guidesSupport internal and external technical reviewsThis position can be for the Tewksbury, MA location or the Marlborough, MA locationQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experienceDemonstrated experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog codingExperience designing and integrating with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera or Actel/Microsemi/Microchip FPGAsExperience using synthesis tools: Synplify, Xilinx Vivado, or Intel Quartus ProExperience with Timing Closure and utilizing Chipscope / Signal TapExperience and knowledge developing requirements for FPGA productsQualifications We ValueExperience using RTL simulation tools such as QuestasimExperience in AMD/Xilinx MPSOC, RFSOC, Ultrascale+, VersalExperience in Intel programmable devices Stratix X, AgilexExperience with high-speed interfaces such as GbE, DDR, JESD, PCIEWorking knowledge of Configuration Management principles, environments and toolsWorking knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, USB, PCIe, etc.Experience with RADAR system hardwareExperience with high-speed interfacesExperience working in teams and possess the ability to multi-taskUnderstanding of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniquesProficiency in LinuxWorking knowledge in the integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces a plusWorking knowledge of C/C++ and/or in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python a plusWorking knowledge/course work of signal & image processing, digital communications and/or control theoriesActive DoD Security ClearanceWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
