Long Reach Operator

About Us:BDI Marine Contractors is a growing, family-owned marine construction company specializing in docks, seawalls, pile driving, and waterfront structures. We’re looking for an experienced Long Reach Excavator Operator to join our team and help execute projects safely and efficiently.Position Overview:The Long Reach Excavator Operator is responsible for operating specialized excavators for marine and site work, including shoreline work, and material placement. This role requires precision, awareness of surroundings, and the ability to work in and around water.Responsibilities:Operate long reach excavators for marine and site construction projectsPerform dredging, grading, excavation, and material placementWork in and around water, barges, and shoreline environmentsFollow grade stakes, plans, and direction from supervisorsConduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenanceCoordinate with ground crews and signalmenMaintain a safe and clean work environmentFollow all company safety policies and OSHA regulationsRequirements:3+ years of experience operating excavators (long reach experience preferred)Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in tight or sensitive environmentsExperience working around water or on marine projects is a plusStrong awareness of surroundings and jobsite safetyValid driver’s licensePreferred Experience:Marine construction (docks, seawalls, dredging)Working from barges or temporary platformsGPS or grade control systemsCDL (a plus, not required)What We Offer:Competitive pay (based on experience)Steady, full-time workPer diem and housing for out-of-town projectsOpportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding companyTeam-oriented, hands-on work environment
