Dry Van Truckload Dispatcher
We are seeking an experienced Dry Van Dispatcher to manage day‑to‑day operations for our over-the-road dry van fleet from our Hoffman Estates office. You will keep trucks loaded, compliant, and on schedule while providing exceptional communication to drivers and customers.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule and coordinate dry van freight, ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries across regional and OTR lanes.Assign loads to drivers based on hours of service, availability, equipment, and customer requirements.Negotiate and book loads through load boards and broker/shipper networks to maximize revenue per truck.Monitor drivers in real time, track shipments, update ETAs, and proactively resolve issues (delays, breakdowns, OS&D, appointment changes).Maintain constant communication with drivers, brokers, and customers via phone, text, and email, documenting all load details in TMS/dispatch software.Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service, ELD usage, and company safety policies.Update and maintain accurate records: rate confirmations, BOLs/PODs, appointments, accessorials, and carrier/customer notes.Work closely with operations and safety teams to balance driver miles, home time, and customer service.RequirementsMinimum 2 years of recent U.S. trucking dispatch experience, ideally with dry van OTR or regional freight.Strong knowledge of U.S. geography, truckload operations, and common dry van freight. Furniture, appliances, retail, and industrial goods are typical freight types.Familiarity with Hours of Service, DOT regulations, ELDs, and standard trucking/dispatch terminology.Proficiency with dispatch/TMS systems, load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.), and basic Excel/Google Sheets.Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written; strong problem‑solving skills under pressure.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics/transportation training is a plus.Schedule & Work EnvironmentFull‑time, on‑site position based in our Hoffman Estates, IL office.Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional after‑hours or weekend coverage as needed to support drivers
