Job DescriptionGHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Albany, Georgia.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: PCU - Progressive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/08/2026Duration: 2 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelEstimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2241.04\n\nOpportunity:\nCardiology Stepdown Unit\n\nJob Details:\n• Work 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM\n• Every other weekend requirement\n• Must work holidays and days around holidays as needed\n• 2 years stepdown experience in acute care setting required without exception\n• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5\n• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred\n• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips system\n• Work with cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, Lasix, Bumex, heparin\n• Manage BiPap, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full ventilators)\n• Float to ICU for stepdown patients only unless ICU experience documented\n• Prefer ability to pull pacer wires with orientation provided if needed\n• Handle fast room turnover with average census of 32-38 patients\n• May discharge and admit 12-16 patients per shift on busy days\n• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs, natural colored hair, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos\n• Must live 75 miles from facility per radius rule\n• EMR system: Meditech\n• Common diagnoses include post-op CABG, cardiovascular surgery, CHF, AFib with RVR, chest tubes\n\nFacility:\nThis acute care facility features a 44-bed cardiology stepdown unit with both 4A and 4B sections. The 4A unit focuses on cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery patients, while 4B handles smaller procedures, drips, and CHF patients. The facility maintains 24/7 coverage with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The unit provides comprehensive cardiac care including post-operative management, telemetry monitoring, and specialized cardiac procedures with full PICC team and intensive care support available.\n\nLocation:\nAlbany, GA\nAlbany offers small-city charm with a population of 80,000 and convenient access to major metropolitan areas, located just 175 miles from Atlanta and 88 miles from Tallahassee, Florida.
