Estimator II SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking anEstimator IIfor ourWind Group who will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates; for smaller projects, this position will also prepare the full estimate. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role.RESPONSIBILITIES Build Project EstimatesComplete quantity takeoffs and summations of materialsSolicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheetsPrepare, organize, and coordinate Request for Proposal documentsPrepare, and coordinate schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor's and other scheduled itemsResolve all pricing options and target the appropriate price for the projectHelp data input into estimating software program(s)Capture historical cost data and perform archive filingParticipate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as neededGather information from local government and private entities that may affect projects (i.e. permits, hearings, etc.)Assist in leading addendum log and documents from customers/clientsProvide direction to new estimators and engineers as they join the teamSolicit new bidders when needed, and obtain necessary documents for inclusion in future projectsIdentify areas for training with estimators and internsQUALIFICATIONS Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experienceMinimum one-year construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operationsCurrent driver’s licenseDetail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasksApplicable mathematical skillsFamiliarity with building/estimating techniques and software:ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google EarthPositive professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesA few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $91,700 MIN - $123,800 MAX.(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.#LI-### #LI-Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days.ABOUT MORTENSON As a top builder, developer, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), our expertise spans markets like sports, renewable energy, data centers, healthcare, and more.
