Business Systems & Data Analyst

Job Description Midwest Salt is growing—and data is central to how we scale smarter.We're seeking a Business Systems & Data Analyst who is equal parts analyst and builder. You'll own the SQL queries, dashboards, and reports that drive leadership decisions - while also designing the data infrastructure that connects SAP Business One with our logistics, tax, pricing, and ecommerce systems into a single source of truth.What You'll DoBuild, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries against the SAP HANA databaseDevelop dashboards and reports using Power BI and SAP Crystal ReportsDesign and build a centralized data lake that consolidates data from SAP and all integrated systemsCreate and maintain automated ETL pipelines using Python and SQLTranslate ERP business processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory) into analytical modelsMaintain and evolve pricing, cost, and margin models within the ERP environmentDesign and build User Defined Objects, Tables, and Fields in SAP B1Troubleshoot and validate data from system integrations, add-ons, APIs, and EDIsDesign data quality checks, reconciliation controls, and exception reportingDefine, document, and govern metric definitions and business logicDeliver insights, forecasts, and scenario analysis to leadershipTrain end users and promote a data-driven culture across the organizationWhat You'll EnjoyOwning analytics that directly influence leadership decisionsBuilding data infrastructure from the ground upWorking with real integrations and real complexityHigh visibility, cross-functional impact, and room to innovateBeing part of a growing company with a long-term investment in data and technologyWhat You'll BringRequiredAdvanced SQL proficiency, including use of CTEs for multi-step logic, window functions for line-level analytics, and complex joins across ERP document lifecycles.Python (or similar) for data analysis, automation, and ETL pipelinesExperience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar)Advanced Excel skillsExperience working with transactional ERP dataStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to translate business questions into clear data and reporting logicStrong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiencesBachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, or Computer ScienceStrongly PreferredHands-on experience with SAP ERP (SAP Business One or S/4HANA)Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, or centralized data repositoriesExperience building or maintaining SAP Crystal ReportsFamiliarity with API integrations and troubleshooting data flows between systemsExperience with logistics or TMS platforms (McLeod, Descartes, or similar)Experience with Avalara AvaTax or similar tax compliance platformsPricing, cost modeling, margin, or supply chain analyticsFamiliarity with data governance or master data managementWhy Midwest SaltAt Midwest Salt, we've built our reputation on three commitments: premium quality products, competitive pricing, and reliable on-time delivery.
