Senior Systems Engineer - EO/IR Processing
Senior Systems Engineer – EO/IR ProcessingAt Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer – EO/IR Processing to support one of our premier programs. In this role, you will collaborate on the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of radio frequency (RF) or electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) signal processing algorithms and models. These technologies support mission-critical products and new business initiatives by extracting and processing sensor data for calibration, noise reduction, object detection, acquisition, tracking, classification, and sensor fusion. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative signal processing solutions that enhance system performance and mission effectiveness. What You Will DoApply advanced signal processing expertise to support the development, execution, and delivery of complex missile systems programsDevelop, modify, and utilize simulations to support the design, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and modelsSupport engineering laboratory activities to test, verify, and validate sensor models and signal processing algorithm performance against system requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate algorithms into hardware and support development activities from program initiation through live-fire testingParticipate in design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings, communicating technical solutions to stakeholders across multiple engineering disciplinesMentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across the teamQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant prior experienceExperience developing or applying signal processing techniques within the electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR), radio frequency (RF), sonar, or acoustic domainsExperience programming in C or applying object-oriented programming principles using C++, C#, or JavaExperience designing, implementing, testing, analyzing, and optimizing signal processing algorithmsActive and transferable DoD Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date, with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
